Many of you read my first column, and I’m very happy about that. This month, I’m suggesting several angles for writing your newsletter.
Take inspiration from magazines and newspapers
The first angle is the so-called American-style approach, which uses catchy headlines in the form of rankings or lists. You’ll often see this kind of headline on the covers of popular magazines or newspapers:
- The best
- … seasonal maintenance tips
- … tips for exercising outdoors
- … summer recipes (BBQ season)
- … 3 things to do this weekend
- 7 things you never dared ask us
- The 6 commandments for...
- The three reasons for success
Use countdowns
Along the same lines, you could also vary the format and offer tips based on your customers’ most frequently asked questions. Try presenting countdowns:
- The top 5 funniest questions
- The 3 most frequently asked questions
- No, you’re not the only one asking whether…
- Our three best answers about…
Vary your messages
Finally, here are a few formats often used by you, our valued Cyberimpact customers:
- Invitations to happy hours
- Renewals (services, domain names, subscriptions)
- Appointment confirmations
- Training offers
- Sports challenges (for your customers, or announcing a challenge your team is taking part in)
- The end of the school year is approaching
Feel free to use these for inspiration and to send your ideas to mcourriel@cyberimpact.com
