Are you curious about which email software are the most popular?
Here are the most used email clients for february 2013 according to emailclientmarketshare.com.
(Legend: mobile software are in green and online services in orange. The other in black, are software)
- Apple iPhone – 23%
- Outlook (many versions) – 16%
- Apple iPad – 11%
- Apple Mail – 9%
- Google Android – 8%
- Live Hotmail – 7%
- Yahoo Mail– 7%
- Gmail – 4%
Mobile platforms were up slightly but steadily over the last year. Software versions appear stable and online services are down a little use.
Good to know: some of these services are more representative of other regions of the world (eg Yahoo Mail is much less used in Quebec while Live Hotmail is still very common).
Important note for online services: Hotmail will soon disappear: Recently, Microsoft has begun to migrate users to Outlook.com. This transition should be completed by the summer.
For Outlook (desktop version), curiously, the latest versions are not the most commonly used: Outlook 2007 and 2010 each have 4% of users, while 2013 does not even reach 1%.
On mobile, if Apple represents the majority of email users, Android is still growing. Blackberry is not represented in this study.
One thing is certain: mobile emails are now a must! So Cyberimpact, with its responsive design, lets you reach for the mobile devices.
